Learn How To Create Vinyl Labels Using Your Cricut
I don’t know about you but I love for my things to be organized. You can’t tell it with how some of my office looks right now, but I do have a lot of things in a small space. And with school in session, I only have so much time on my hands. But…it’s January…the start of a new year. Which means it’s time to get organized. First thing we can do is create vinyl labels so we can begin labeling your containers.
The one thing I use the most in my office (besides my computer) is paper. I recently bought two three-drawer organizers to put my paper in, but I was constantly having to look to see where my plain paper and card stock paper was. Creating labels for these drawers saves me time because I know what is in each drawer with a single glance. And, as a bonus, they’re super cute!

How to Label Your Containers Using Your Cricut Joy and Smart Vinyl
Step 1: Get My Free Vinyl Labels SVG File
My free Labels SVG cut files include eight different labels for you to use to start getting organized this year.
Get the free Paper Drawer Labels SVG (Design #009) from The Vault absolutely free (get the password through the form above).
Step 2: Prepare Your Vinyl Labels File For Cutting
Once downloaded, you will be able to upload the files into Design Space. Once the file(s) is uploaded, decide which labels you want to use and attract them so the letters stay in place for cutting. Resize the designs to match the imprint area of your container.
Step 3: Cut Out Your Custom Vinyl Labels
Select the right cutting material and pressure. Using smart vinyl, load your vinyl face up into your Cricut Joy and check or load your fine-point blade.
Step 4: Weed Your Cut Vinyl Labels
Remove all of the excess vinyl from your labels. I like to start on the small areas inside of the letters and numbers, then move to the bigger pieces. Be careful when removing the vinyl, because it can tear easily.
Now you can apply a piece of transfer tape or painter’s tape to your vinyl Labels.
Step 5: Apply Your Vinyl to Your Containers
Line up your vinyl labels on your containers where you want them. Use your scraper tool to apply the vinyl to your containers. Scrape it down really well so that the vinyl adheres to the containers well and forms a good seal.
When removing the transfer tape or painter’s tape, do it carefully and slowly. If you rush, you could rip the vinyl and ruin your labels.
