Learn How To Sublimate On Ceramic Car Coasters In Five Easy Steps
Just about every vehicle made today has cup holders. Which, if you ask me, is just another part of our vehicles that we get to personalize. You have car covers, steering wheel covers, dangles for your rearview mirror, so why not have something decorative for your car or truck. Sublimating ceramic car coasters is the perfect way to add a little more of your personality to your ride.
Yes, I’ve joined the masses and decided to add some coasters to my car. I started out with the neoprene car coasters and really loved them. Then I made my kids some ceramic car coasters and was like, WOW! I really like these. The colors are just so much more vibrant on the ceramic coasters than they are on the neoprenes.

How to Sublimate On Ceramic Car Coasters
Step 1: Get My Free Ceramic Car Coaster PNG designs
To get the design, go to Victori’s Creations’ Vault. Enter the password to access The Vault (the password can be found in each email I send out). Look for design #010 – Ceramic Car Coasters and download it to your device.
Step 2: Preparing Your Designs
Preparing your designs is extremely easy. Find them on your computer and open them up. If you want to add text to your car coasters, you will want to open them in a program that allows you to modify PNG files. I like to use Canva when I want to add text to my images.
To add text in Canva, upload your designs and add a text box. Be sure that you don’t change the size of your designs as they are sized for the ceramic car coasters. Once you are done, you just need to download the new design to your device.
Step 3: Printing Out Your Designs
When printing out your designs, make sure you are using your sublimation printer. If you are like me, you have a printer for your normal printing and you have one for your sublimation. Make sure you have your settings set up for the best quality and you have your images set to mirror. Load your sublimation paper in your printer and click on print.
Step 4: Prepping Your Ceramic Car Coasters
Your ceramic car coasters have a shiny side and a flat (not shiny) side. The shiny side is where you will apply your image. Before you apply your image, wipe the shiny side with a lint free cloth (cotton or terry cloth will also work). This will remove any lint and oils from where you have handled the coaster.
Attach the images to your ceramic car coasters using heat resistant tape. This will keep your image from moving or ghosting. You will want to put butcher paper under and over the top of the coasters to keep the inks from transferring to your heat press.
Step 5: Apply Your Designs On Your Ceramic Car Coasters
If you are using a big heat press, make sure your pressure is set for the ceramic coaster. The pressure should be enough that there is a small imprint of the coaster on the mat, but not so much that you struggle to close the press. If you are using a hand held heat press, make sure you are keeping even pressure when you are pressing.
Turn your heat press on and set the temperature for 400℉ and set the timer for 90 seconds. When your press is ready, place your ceramic car coasters under your press with the image on top of the coasters. Close the press and bake your coasters for 90 seconds. Once they are done, remove the sublimation paper and heat resistant tape carefully. Don’t forget to wear your heat resistant gloves!
