Finding out you’re going to be grandparents is always exciting (no matter how many grandchildren you already have)! And when your daughter presents you with a baby reveal keepsake onesie, what else can you do but make a keepsake shadow box.
Let me show you how I put together my baby reveal keepsake shadow box.
What I used:
- A shadowbox (Michael’s has a great selection)
- A onesie my daughter made
- Decorations for inside the box
- Something to attach the decorations to the box (I used foam mounting tape)
- Scrapbook paper
- Picture of the sonogram
Putting my keepsake together:
I was so eager to put my shadow box together that I forgot to lay everything out on the shadow box before taking the backing off. But it worked out because I ended up with more ideas on how to put it together to make it look nice.
I cut some scrapbook paper to line the bottom of the backing. Then I cut another strip to place a little above that. I had to fold the onesie back a little because it was too long. Actually, I bought a shadow box that wasn’t big enough. HA! After I secured the onesie to the backing, I added the picture of the sonogram.
Once I was satisfied with the way everything looked, I carefully put the backing back on the box and secured the tabs on the back. And presto! Just like that, I was finished. Start to finish, putting my baby reveal keepsake shadow box together only took about 30 minutes.
It’s always wonderful to find out you’re going to be a grandparent, no matter how many grandchildren you have! What’s great is having something special to cherish about the moment you found out!
