One thing all teachers need is a pencil holder. A few months ago, I decided I needed a way to make sharpened pencils more readily available to my students. So, I went on the search for cute pencil holder ideas online. I saw some that I liked but wanted to make my own.
I set out to make a really cute and functional pencil holder for my classroom.
What I used:
- My Cricut
- Permanent premium vinyl
- Cricut scraper and weeding tool
- Some cute double-sided containers (I found these at Wal-Mart)
- Transfer paper
- Measuring tape
- Cricut mat
Putting this together was fun and easy to do. I used Design Space (DS) to create the design I wanted. Then I cut it out on my Cricut, weeded, and added the images to my container. Once I had it done, I took it to my classroom. I put it on my desk and added pencils. My students loved it!
Not only did my students love it, but my team did too! So, what do I do? I make them one, of course! Because I already had the design saved in my DS, all I had to do was duplicate it to give me 3 of both images. Lucky for me, I bought enough of the containers.
I set my mat up and let my Cricut do its thing. Next, I weeded out the designs. Once I had them all weeded, I used my transfer tape and put the designs on the containers. Now all I need is for us to be able to open the schools back up so I can give it to them.
Creating these pencil holders was so much fun and I was so happy that my students and team loved them. So much so that I want to share this project with you! Click here to get the design to make your own!
Have you ever made something and just couldn’t wait to give it to the person you made it for?
